Lambert Kitchen Renovation Decor

Here are the links to the decor and lighting I selected for my kitchen remodel. We had a real life budget for this renovation, so I splurged on the items that matter most- the jewelry of the kitchen: lighting, hardware and kitchen faucet. I would have loved to been able to hand pick accessories but I worked with what I already had and it made it a fun challenge! Comment below if you have any questions about my kitchen renovation. I would love to chat! Happy Thursday!

Kitchen Renovation

Guys,

I am finally getting around to posting before and afters of our kitchen renovation! The process took awhile ( months and months) but if I remember right, we were only without a sink for like 10 days, so I’m looking at the bright side 😊Buying this house we knew we needed to gut the entire kitchen to open it up and give it a new layout, it was total 90’s with plant shelves and dinky small uppers. Plus I love the special two-tone paint job on the previous design😉

Chad, the hero behind the project demolished the existing, laid new gorgeous engineered wood floors, built the cabinets in his father/brother’s high-end custom cabinet shop (Aspen Mill), installed and made it fabulous. Throughout all of that process I sat behind my computer designing the kitchen layout in CAD, selecting glass and solid door finishes, picked the color white ( so many options) selected classic brass hardware, hand selected our quartz counter tops and it all started coming together.

Some of my favorite features of the kitchen remodel was adding new over sized pendants over the island, selecting a fire clay farm sink and a pretty new kitchen faucet! My style has evolved a lot through the process, mostly styling, but 2 years later, I am still so in love with our classic white kitchen.

I love symmetry, so I knew I wanted to create that by the hood- glass was a perfect solution to soften up all the cabinetry. Also, with huge vaulted ceilings, we capitalized on that feature and built 10’ cabinets! It is so grand!!!

This space is small! Built in banquette seating was ideal for the space and our young kids. Also it freed up the necessary space needed for the backdoor to function and not have a table in the way.

Adding wood paneling came last. But its one of my favorite pops of color and texture. This wall gave me grief for awhile not knowing what to do. I love how it makes a bold statement of traditional design.

Mountain House- The Great Room

Hello! Today I am excited to show you the final details of the great room of the mountain house project I have been working on for the past year. It has been evolving quickly the last few months and I am SO excited for it all to come together. As I am designing for clients, I love to give them as much visuals as possible so they can picture the end result. It was super important for this great room to have enough comfortable seating to gather family and friends, to be warm and cozy and have beautiful neutral rock for the floor to ceiling fireplace. The client loves the feel of an old farm house, so incorporating texture, pattern and mixed metals will really make the space fill lived in. Also, over grouting the fireplace puts an old European spin on the stone .

White Kitchens

Hi there!

I'm super excited to be talking about my love for white kitchens today! White kitchens are definitely the trend of the decade, and even though everyone says to stay away from trends, this trend is classic! And tell me you don't wear skinny jeans just because they're in style :) I think there are a lot of benefits to having a white kitchen

  • Instantly freshens a dark space up

  • Will never go out of style

  • Is on trend

  • Looks great when combined with different colored bases or a wood island

  • Easy maintenance (wipe clean)

  • Great backdrop for colorful accessories so things don't get too busy

  • Looks great with any kind of hardware: Brass, Nickel, Black

  • Can GET AWAY WITH A MORE DARING BACKSPLASH

Studio Mcgee

The white and brass combo is really pretty together. I like how Studio Mcgee brought in some natural wood with the butcher block counter top

House of Jade

What I like about this kitchen is 1. cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. 2. there is great contrast in material and color of the big bold black cone pendants and barstools.

Source

Here is a great two-toned kitchen that is like, wow! I love how even though the ceiling is vaulted, the cabinets are nesstled in way at the top. Marble counter tops (or counter tops that look like marble and are more durable) is one of my favorite looks.

This gallery kitchen is to die for! the gray and the brass, the use of space, the herringbone patterned tile! Love the use of wood for the open shelving and the beautiful black steel french doors. Holy Moly. It all speaks for itself.

HOH

I basically love these bar stools and would give a kidney for them. But I want more than two for that trade ;)

What I'm liking right now

I've been searching for rugs that are affordable yet functional. Hard combo when you want them to be in style!  I am loving Scandinavian Flatweaves. A great alternative to sisal and jute rugs that are a little harder to clean and not so soft on the feet. I do love that Scandinavian rugs offer texture like a jute rug and would look great layered. Layered rugs are just too good. Here are a few sources that I rounded up! If you're going to trust anyone about interiors, trust the Sweds!

BATHROOM INSPO

Long time, no chat. Just wanted to get these beautiful images up before another week passes by. Some great material here.

Have a great night

Amber Lewis knocks every project outta the park!! Floating vanities have been on my mind lately, great way to spice things up.

Love the unique shape of mirrors and black+brass combo. Traditional but fresh and trend on

love the material combo in this. Dark pattern floor ( which would be great in a bathroom) wood and a clean white backdrop. YES!

Can't tell you how much I love these kind of doors for a shower. I mean come on! Such a great solution to adding dimension, keeping glass but having it be functional and sexy. Crossing my fingers for this in my master bath reno.

This bath by designer Tamara K Honey, is to die for. SO HEAVENLY. There are so many beautiful details. Ill just let you stare at it for awhile

One of my favorite looks in a bath is wallpaper! Its a great place to be daring, because 1. it's small so it won't cost as much as doing a full room 2. You won't get sick of it because it's not a main space 3. It helps absorbs sound and easy clean…

SANTA BABY

I'm a firm believer that at any age its totally ok to have a Christmas wishlist! I also know that I won't be receiving any of these gifts for myself, haha but it sure was fun gathering all my favorite stuff for this blog post. Seriously in love with Studio Mcgee's new home collection fabrics. They're soo good. And if you haven't checked them out yet, I would suggest you do so! They're work is amazing. This lucite coffee table has been on my wishlist for the past 3 yrs. I love how simple and modern it is. And, I almost had my hands on a fawn design diaper bag, but the waiting list last spring was just too long and I got impatient and wanted something for when my baby was born in May. Should've waited! I tried the free people flats on this Fall when I was in Jackson Hole Wyoming, and I almost just wore them out of the store! I wouldn't do that. But I really really wanted to! They are so cool and feel so good and look so beautiful.

So I guess I'll just wait for Christmas morning to see if my husband really loves me. I kid, I kid.

Speaking of Christmas Morning.. For those of you that don't know, I am a new mama and honestly every day feels like Christmas morning with my baby girl. It's just sooo fun being a mom. So, I really can't wait till Christmas morning does come, its going to be THE BEST DAY EVVVVVVER!

Happy shopping to those of you who can actually shop ;)

Living Room Renovation

Hello! I've been MIA lately, well actually just busy with a living room face lift and being a mama. Today I am happy to show you some of the furniture/ accessories I have chosen for my parents new living room. It really did need a big refresher. We pulled up old carpet and laid gorgeous hickory wood floor, we are still in the process of installing wall paneling. We still have lots to do before it is complete. I start the design process with first getting a feel for what the needs, wants and dreams are for the space. It;s always a smart idea to measure the space so the best type of furniture is selected. Floor plans totally make my heart pump. There is something so simple and crisp about them. They always put everything in perspective.  My mom likes neutrals and really likes to play it safe with the color palate, so we chose a great Benjamin Moore Gray which instantly made the room more current. I wanted the room to have a classic feel, so the bones of the room were essential. Wainscoting is an instant upgrade that makes a room look expensive and gives it history. My parents wanted a lot of bang for the buck, so in my design I wanted to add furniture and finishes  that would last them many years.

My dad is a brick mason, so they have a lot of brick in there home already. The wood floor looks amazing with the brick. I would classify the style my mom wanted was a little bit of farmhouse (wood floors, brick)  with classic details (wall paneling, neutral colors) Here is the e-board I designed to help them visualize the space with the furniture plan. Lots more to come on this project! The before and afters will be something to see.

Have a great day!

DEFINE YOUR STYLE

Even if you're not an expert in design you are surrounded by it everyday.  I think that is one of the reasons why I chose this profession, because it is so important to our well-being. You think about it... from your sofa and how functional yet comfortable it is, to how the color on your walls effect your mood. Design IS everywhere and in everything. That's why I think it is important to be able to bring yourself out in your home. What style do you love best? Or is it a mix of all? Sometimes we get into ruts and don't know quite what to get rid of or hold on to. To define your space, furniture will be one of the biggest factors. What shape do you like? Do you love the English Chesterfield? A little too traditional for you? How about the Barcelona Couch? Dive in and know your style and the end goal for your space!

Knowing classic pieces that will stand the test of time will help you not be too trendy and make your living space something that you will always enjoy.  There are a bunch of fun quizzes you can take on via and  lonny.com

I gathered a bunch of beautiful interior images to help you define the look that is most YOU. Have fun defining your style.

Inspiration: Pattern Cement Tile

My husband and I are in the process (fingers crossed) of purchasing a home to renovate. I have been planning and dreaming of ideas for the home but what I keep thinking about the most is the potential of the bathrooms. Bathrooms are overlooked a lot, I feel like, but they can be such a fun space to design. One of my favorite things I'm seeing in the design world as of late is cement tiles! There are so many great patterns out there, and a bathroom would be a perfect place to go a little crazy and get daring with pattern.

There's my tid-bit. Happy Wednesday errbody!!

STYLE FILE: BRASS SCONCES

Do you love brass? And do you love exposed light bulbs? Than this post is for you! Brass is found countless times in magazines, but is sometimes hard to find for an affordable price.

Here are some of my favorite wall sconces that would look great anywhere around the house. If you need to refresh a bathroom vanity, or add some lighting in your living room, lighting is number one on my list. Sources Below

I can't get enough of this bathroom! The tile floor is just too much.  Kirsten Marie

Rugs

Hi there! Area rugs have been on my mind for a long time! I have been trying to find the perfect affordable one that will last me through a long time. Area rugs really define a space. They are the rooms anchor, pulling everything together and defining the space. It is a great way to start decorating if you are unsure  of how and where to start. Rugs are also a great way to bring in pattern and color. Styles go in and out, so it is important to pick a classic style to carry you through the years.

There is a lot to know about rugs. Research what will work best for you and the people you live with. Different types of piles will work better as a door mat, or in a dining room rather than a bedroom or bathroom. Another great styling tip is to layer your rug with another! just like in fashion, floors need some extra lovin'. Start by mixing a natural flat weave with a fur rug, the juxtaposition is amazing!

These are the 6 rugs I have had my eye on for a good while. I finally found the size I need (7x10) to fit my long sofa. This is the one that I chose. Buying a rug online can be scary so read the reviews and read about the company. This company was so prompt with shipping and it was free! That was a huge bonus for me. It is still on sale! Check it out along with its blue sister :) it is a beautiful rug and the colors were true to my monitor screen.

Hello!

This is it. my first post! I am happy to finally be apart of the blogging world. It has been something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. After finally graduating from design school I feel like I now have the time for this kind of gig.

I'll start by introducing myself. I am Eryn. Eryn Lambert. I am married to Chad and together we have the most beautiful 4 month baby girl, Leah. She is my dream, but another dream that I have is to be an interior designer. And that is the purpose of this blog. To start to curate a platform to show interiors, products, ideas and portfolio pieces that I am particularly fond of.

I feel like going to design school was crucial for me to have the business I want to run. I feel very fortunate about the amazing education I earned at Utah State University. It is a CIDA accredited school that pushes the limit of design dreams. There, I learned AUTOCAD like it was my second language. I learned how to evolve in the design process, how to express my ideas on paper to make it all real. I won't go into all the details of my four year experience at Utah State, it was so great, so hard, so worth while, it will take me all day.

So Welcome To The Eryn Lambert Design Blog. We are going to be great friends

Below are some of my favorites from Leah's newborn photo shoot! She is so itty bitty! This time of life is so so sweet. I am an enthusiast of Mikki Platt's work. She is the kindest most sincere woman that runs the world. I feel so fortunate to have her photograph my sweet family. Thank you Mikki!! Check out her work if you haven't already!
